Corfu paraglidind Ermis.com arranges and guides paragliding paratriking tandem flights. Our pilot is a member of the Hellenic airports federation (NAC of Greece), member of the international Association of paragliding pilots and instructors (APPI). We provide to our guests full international flight insurance.
Anyone that is 8 – 100 years old and weighs between 20 and 125kg can fly with us, providing they are in good physical and mental health. Children under 18 wanting to fly must be signed off by a parent or guardian. Passengers with disabilities can also fly. Flights are not permitted for pregnant women.
The liable contractual partner is the tandem pilot who operates the flight. Immediately preceding take-off, the tandem passenger receives instruction on the take-off procedures from the staff. If the tandem passenger does not understand this instruction, or is not able to follow it for any reason the tandem passenger must inform the pilot immediately.
Flight date and payment
The pilot determines all aspects of the flight. The pilot is also always responsible for the execution of the flight. We expressly point out that despite fixed dates, there is no entitlement to the implementation of the tandem flight if the prevailing weather conditions in the flight area do not allow this.
In the event of cancellation because bad weather conditions, he client receives a full refund his prepayment.
In the event of a short-term cancellation by client , there is no entitlement to compensation, reimbursement or reimbursement of other expenses.
Risk instruction and flying suitability of the tandem passenger
Despite the greatest care, accidents can still occur while paragliding. Our primary goal is to minimize this risk as much as possible. The passenger undertakes to follow the pilot’s instructions in every case and immediately. The passenger receives a theoretical briefing before take-off. Failure to follow these instructions during take-off, flight and landing can endanger the passenger and pilot.
The pilot can also exclude the passenger from flight operations if the passenger ignores his instructions. In the event of a violation, there is no longer any entitlement to the implementation of the tandem flight, and the right to repayment of the flight fee expires. if the passenger is under the influence of alcohol or other intoxication, the pilot will not carry out the flight and has the right to withhold the full cost of the flight.
The passenger is also liable for intentional or grossly negligent damage to the pilot’s equipment or to third parties. The passenger expressly declares that he is physically and mentally healthy and confirms that he feels able to cope with the stresses and strains of the flight. If anything is unclear about the fitness to fly, the passenger must report this to the tandem pilot before the flight.
The pilot must be informed before the flight of any of the following preexisting conditions of the passenger:
Diseases of the heart, and high blood pressure
Mental or psychological defects
Drug addiction, impaired consciousness, or the like within the last 12 months
Drinking alcohol, or taking strong medication within the last 12 hours Equipment
The tandem passenger shall bring comfortable, closed running / walking shoes / hiking boots (takkies / trainers / joggers / sneakers), NOT Crocs, sandals, flip flops, nothing that flop or flips please!, T-shirt or long sleeved jersey / fleece / windstopper, long or short pants, sun block (sunscreen) (it’s often sunny and we don’t want you getting sunburned!), drinking water, sunglasses.
The pilot shall provide a helmet suitable for the tandem flight and flight equipment.
We offer a GoPro camera during the flight and memory card with your video and photo (free of charge).
The best weather conditions during summer are 09.00-14.30 a.m. and 17.30-20.30 p.m.
Additional
It is the responsibility of the passenger to properly secure and stow away items carried on a tandem flight such as money, cell phones, cameras, glasses and any other valuables.
If any of these items should get lost or damaged neither the pilot nor Corfu paragliding Ermis.com accepts any liability.
Corfu paragliding Ermis.com and the respective tandem pilot entrepreneurs cannot be held liable for damage that occurs on the way to the starting points and from the agreed meeting point. The pilots or Corfu paraglidind Ermis.com are only obliged to pay compensation if the damage was caused by a grossly negligent or willful act or omission of the tandem pilot.
The carrier’s liability is limited to the items of the passenger that are transported, and in the amount of the insurance coverage taken out for them by either the Corfu paragliding Ermis.com.
Claims that go beyond this can only be asserted in the event of willful intent or gross negligence.
Right to use image and film material
The passenger agrees that all photos and video recordings made during the tandem flight may be used by Corfu paraglidind Ermis.com for promotional purposes without restriction. The copyright lies with by Corfu paraglidind Ermis.com.
We offer a GoPro camera during the flight and memory card with your video and photo (free of charge). The passenger can use also photos and video recordings made during the tandem flight for social media.
We would like to point out that the flight recordings are a free service. We always attach great importance to the smooth functioning of our cameras. Nevertheless, a technical problem could arise such as an SD or battery error, etc.. In such a case no claims, such as price reduction or repetition of a flight, may be asserted.
Voucher – terms of payment and validity
Upon ordering a tandem flight voucher the customer becomes obliged to pay the purchase price.
The purchase price is to be prepaid. Vouchers expire one year after the date of issue. In individual cases a special arrangement may be possible to extend the validity of the voucher.
The passenger must bring the voucher with them on the day of the flight and give it to their pilot.
When booking a tandem flight without a voucher the price of the flight is to be paid by cash or by card prior to the flight.
Right of withdrawal – cancellation costs
According to European consumer protection, claims for repayment of the purchase price can be asserted within 14 days of receipt of the voucher without giving reasons.
The passenger can withdraw from the agreed event date at any time by email or by messenger (WhatsApp, viber).
For withdrawals made within 24 hours before the agreed date there shall be no refund granted. Vouchers shall become invalid upon cancellation. This shall also apply to vouchers from sales partners.
Final provisions
Should any parts of one of these Corfu paraglidind Ermis.com terms and conditions be ineffective, the effectiveness of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
An ineffective provision shall be replaced by a provision that comes closest to the intended meaning of the original one.
Upon payment of the invoice amount, or by verbally placing a transport order, or by redeeming the flight voucher, the tandem passenger has concluded an air transport contract with the respective tandem pilot provider.
Greek law shall apply to this contract.
